Tuesday 9/25
Tuesday's class was a good introduction to using resistance bands. I didn't like them at first, but as we started doing different exercises involving the bands, I began to like them. The hardest exercise for me on Tuesday was the "sit-up with the band underneath you and pull up to do a crutch," which I never really caught the exact name of. I liked it a lot and it was really different from doing a similar exercise without the band.
On another note, my hands smelled like balloons all day long :( it took me two class periods to realize that the rubber smell was coming from me! haha!
Thursday 9/27
We worked with resistance bands again today after our awesome two question test :) I feel comfortable enough to use them on my own now at the gym and I'm pretty sure I will be sharing some of these exercises with my mom when I go home next weekend!
I think the consistent use of the bands really helped this class period, as opposed to the last where we had to alternate bands. The same exercises we did on Tuesday I felt a lot more in my arms and legs today because of constant use with the bands.
I think I could have done more of the walking/side-stepping exercises with the band because I really felt those in my legs.
Again...balloon-smelling hands are very difficult to get away from.
It was a great week and so far I feel like I've come a long way. My core has definitely gotten stronger and I look forward to next week! :) Have a great weekend!

Post for Tuesday 9/18 and Thursday 9/20
9/18-Tuesday
Tuesday was AWESOME! Though the balls were imaginary, I loved doing the medicine ball workouts. I have always really wanted to work out with them and now I actually can because we learned some great new activities. My favorite was the "cherry pickers." My least favorite workout was the squats because they were so hard! I certainly felt that going up the stairs to the dining hall for dinner. I had pasta today which made the day complete. (:
9/20-Thursday
The medicine balls today made me feel so legit. I really felt the workouts we did all over my body. The medicine ball made the workouts from Tuesday more difficult, but all the better. Again, the squats were killer. In other news, my upper body seems to be handling our "favorite" countdown pushups/arm raises a lot better than it did in the beginning. I'm still looking to do those 50 push ups in a row without stopping. Maybe another week with a focus on upper body will help this goal seem more attainable. I'm home for the weekend and so ready to relax.
See you Tuesday!

Post for Tuesday 9/11 & Thursday 9/13
9/11- Tuesday's class was pretty good. I really liked the stations. It was a challenge to be able to push myself on my own. The stiffness/sore feeling from last week has left my body for good. I was able to do each activity better than before. Push-ups are getting easier (yes!) Slowly but surely I am making progress. I noticed that my arms were sore on Wednesday, so my upper body felt the arm station the most! I'm also thinking about monitoring my food because I know that the trick to a health body is also in what you eat...more salads and fruits, less grilled cheese :(
9/13- Thursday's class was great too! I really enjoyed incorporating the ball exercises into the stations. I liked the fire hydrant exercised the best this week. My butt is still feeling it today! I enjoyed the lower abs station as well because this is my main problem area. I look forward to toning the rest of my body next week! And now to continue on to the rest of my homework this Saturday morning! See you next week!

Entry For Tuesday, September 4, 2012
Well, now that I correctly figured out the blogger site I can begin writing post that you can see. I remember that Tuesday was very hard. My body was not used to physical activity. I loved the upper body work outs. There were the million sets of dumbbells, the "oogly-booglies", push ups, a few planks, and so much more. I was ready to take on this class (even if I didn't get the blogging right at first.) I'm excited to track my progress and watch my core grow strong. I also can't wait to learn multiple different workouts that I can do on my own out of class. I'm so excited for this semester.

I was really really sore. My body was not prepared to take on the ab work outs, yet I did. The multiple sets and variety of crunches we did were great. I found the "muffins" to be helpful, and the circle with our legs to be the most difficult. I am determined to be able to do that before the semester ends. I'm really looking forward on ab and leg toning the most in this class, so I'm axioms to see what next week will bring (:
