Post For Tuesday 12/4 & Thursday 12/6

Tuesday 12/4
Its crazy to think that my first semester of college is almost over. I liked today's class, a lot and I've learned so much about my core this semester! Still working on my lower ab goal, but I will get there soon.

Thursday 12/6
It's the last day :( I'm so sad that today was our last time together. The group was great to work with. I've definitely seen my body change as I built muscle and the semester passed. I hope to use what I've learned in the future to keep my core tight and fit.

Thanks for a great class Jenna!

Have a great break!  :)

Post for Tuesday 11/27 and Thursday 11/29

Tuesday 11/27
WOW! One hundred of everything just about killed me. I really liked it though because I was able to push myself and know that because I this semester my body is capable of doing it. I think the million sit up were actually my favorite. I loved working off the turkey!!! :)

Thursday 11/29
Today was a step down from Tuesday's activities. I like the squat exercises the best. I'm happy with the progress my legs have made since day one. It was a great! WE ONLY HAVE TWO CLASSES LEFT! Ahhh! Is that crazy or what? It's been a great semester!

Hope you had a great weekend! You looked great at the banquet! :)

Post for Tuesday 11/20

Tuesday 11/20

I really liked the relaxed atmosphere of today's class. The mixed exercises were a fun way to incorporate all core areas. I thought lounges were really hard. Now I know I need to work my legs in a major way.

Have a great Thanksgiving! Eats lots! :)

Post for 11/13 & 11/15

Tuesday 11/13
Pair core training exercises are always a great way to start the day! I really enjoyed making up our own ab workouts. I always enjoy our group challenge at the end of the day. It was great! Today also gave me the idea at to focus on my arms in my 10-week workout. I'm excited to make it!

Thursday 11/16
I didn't attend class today, but I will still post! I am amazed that it is almost Christmas time (39 days away....thats crazy) I'm also excited about my fitness plan and can't wait to bring it to class on Tuesday!

Have a great weekend!

Post for Tuesday 11/6 & Thursday 11/8

Post for Tuesday 11/6

Intensity was GREAT...not to mention intense. I loved the cardio and core workout combos. This is a great way to start your day! The arm and leg workouts with weights were really good too. I think my favorite new exercise we did overall was Intensity. I am really tempted to go buy the DVDs.

I hope your presentation went well too! I love your idea and know that it will get approved!

Post for Thursday 11/8

My body was not prepared to get back into our normal routine. I'm so happy because I found that the exercises are actually getting easer to do because I'm building muscle. This was a great realization! I'm hoping to keep building muscle and toning my core. Have an excellent weekend!

p.s.- is it crazy we only have 6 more classes left? ahhhh!

MAKEUP Post for 10/16, 10/18, 10/30 and 11/1

Post for Tuesday 10/16
I know these were teaching days as well. Forgive me if I'm not remembering correctly, but I believe this was the week where we used cowbells in one of the pairs exercises. I liked using them, though they were difficult.

Post for Thursday 10/18
I'm pretty sure on Thursday we did yoga, which was interesting to say the least. I think it's something you have to get used to, but its basically similar to a lot of stretching and relaxing. This is a great way to sooth your body and mind together.

Post for Tuesday 10/30
Hurricane Sandy day!!! The chilly winds and cold winter air stopped class for the first time in 30 years...pretty intense. I hope you enjoyed your "hurricane day!"

Post for Thursday 11/1
We did some yoga and low intensity ab workouts today. It was a nice way to get ready for the weekend. I really enjoy the breathing in yoga- it really helps to center yourself. I like it a lot and might consider for a cool down.

Post for Tuesday 10/23 & Thursday 10/25

I just wanted to say first and for most, I'm sorry about not completing my blog for the last week. I had a bit of excitement in my life going on, plus exams, and i just completely forgot :(
but here are my post for this week.

Tuesday 10/23
I really enjoy teaching class on Tuesday! I also thought it was cool to learn new workouts from our classmates! Yoga was really interesting and completely different from what i'm used to. And the other workout was tough. I look forward to the other teaching days1

Thursday 10/25
Today was great! Alicia was so enthusiastic and I loved her workout! It wasn't demanding, yet still provided results. The bars were weird to get used to, but I could see us using them in the future. I also liked the other workouts. I feel like they really pushed our bodies in ways we haven't done in class before. Next week is sure to challenging too!

Have a great weekend! :)

Post for Thursday 10/11

Tuesday 10/9
We didn't have class...and I didn't get any work done...unsuccessful, yet restful fall break. It was great to be home!

Thursday 10/11
Thursday's class was very low key. I loved the incorporation of the weights into our workout! I can definitely see myself using them at the gym! I like the squats the most, and I felt them today going up and down stairs. I can't wait to do our teaching day with the cardio plates Pilates! It's going to be great! I hope you have a great Homecomings (why in the world would they make it plural; maybe it's just me...but that's a little weird) weekend!

p.s.- In an effort to avoid studying for my Biology midterm, changed my picture on my blog :) It's fancy now. just kidding.

Post for Tuesday 10/2 and Thursday 10/4

Tuesday 10/2
Group activities were fun! I really enjoyed incorporating a variety of the equipment we have been working with. I also liked the variety of exercises to choose from! We were busy the whole class period and still had more exercises to go. It was fun trying to challenge each other as well. Working out with someone is alway great! I was very excited for Thursday's Pilates because I had heard great things about it.

Thursday 10/4
I LOVE PILATES!!!  It was amazing. Even the simple workout routine we did was challenging, yet fun. I felt the use of a lot of different muscles all over my body and I hope to incorporate these into a regular workout over the summer. Leah and I were so excited about Pilates that we are doing a faster paced cardio Pilates for our teaching day! I'm already on Pinterest and Youtube trying to find some good ones to teach. Teaching this should be really fun!

I'm really interested in learning about better food choices we could make as we are beginning to really see the results of our core training.

Enjoy fall break and have a great weekend! :)

Post for Tuesday 9/25 & Thursday 9/27

Tuesday 9/25
Tuesday's class was a good introduction to using resistance bands. I didn't like them at first, but as we started doing different exercises involving the bands, I began to like them. The hardest exercise for me on Tuesday was the "sit-up with the band underneath you and pull up to do a crutch," which I never really caught the exact name of. I liked it a lot and it was really different from doing a similar exercise without the band.
On another note, my hands smelled like balloons all day long :( it took me two class periods to realize that the rubber smell was coming from me! haha!

Thursday 9/27
We worked with resistance bands again today after our awesome two question test :) I feel comfortable enough to use them on my own now at the gym and I'm pretty sure I will be sharing some of these exercises with my mom when I go home next weekend!
I think the consistent use of the bands really helped this class period, as opposed to the last where we had to alternate bands. The same exercises we did on Tuesday I felt a lot more in my arms and legs today because of constant use with the bands.
I think I could have done more of the walking/side-stepping exercises with the band because I really felt those in my legs.
Again...balloon-smelling hands are very difficult to get away from.
It was a great week and so far I feel like I've come a long way. My core has definitely gotten stronger and I look forward to next week! :) Have a great weekend!

Post for Tuesday 9/18 and Thursday 9/20

9/18-Tuesday
Tuesday was AWESOME! Though the balls were imaginary, I loved doing the medicine ball workouts. I have always really wanted to work out with them and now I actually can because we learned some great new activities. My favorite was the "cherry pickers." My least favorite workout was the squats because they were so hard! I certainly felt that going up the stairs to the dining hall for dinner. I had pasta today which made the day complete. (:

9/20-Thursday
The medicine balls today made me feel so legit. I really felt the workouts we did all over my body. The medicine ball made the workouts from Tuesday more difficult, but all the better. Again, the squats were killer. In other news, my upper body seems to be handling our "favorite" countdown pushups/arm raises a lot better than it did in the beginning. I'm still looking to do those 50 push ups in a row without stopping. Maybe another week with a focus on upper body will help this goal seem more attainable. I'm home for the weekend and so ready to relax.

See you Tuesday!

Post for Tuesday 9/11 & Thursday 9/13

9/11- Tuesday's class was pretty good. I really liked the stations. It was a challenge to be able to push myself on my own. The stiffness/sore feeling from last week has left my body for good. I was able to do each activity better than before. Push-ups are getting easier (yes!) Slowly but surely I am making progress. I noticed that my arms were sore on Wednesday, so my upper body felt the arm station the most! I'm also thinking about monitoring my food because I know that the trick to a health body is also in what you eat...more salads and fruits, less grilled cheese :(

9/13- Thursday's class was great too! I really enjoyed incorporating the ball exercises into the stations. I liked the fire hydrant exercised the best this week. My butt is still feeling it today! I enjoyed the lower abs station as well because this is my main problem area. I look forward to toning the rest of my body next week! And now to continue on to the rest of my homework this Saturday morning! See you next week!

Entry For Tuesday, September 4, 2012

Well, now that I correctly figured out the blogger site I can begin writing post that you can see. I remember that Tuesday was very hard. My body was not used to physical activity. I loved the upper body work outs. There were the million sets of dumbbells, the "oogly-booglies", push ups, a few planks, and so much more. I was ready to take on this class (even if I didn't get the blogging right at first.) I'm excited to track my progress and watch my core grow strong. I also can't wait to learn multiple different workouts that I can do on my own out of class. I'm so excited for this semester.

Entry For Thursday, September 6, 2012

I was really really sore. My body was not prepared to take on the ab work outs, yet I did. The multiple sets and variety of crunches we did were great. I found the "muffins" to be helpful, and the circle with our legs to be the most difficult. I am determined to be able to do that before the semester ends. I'm really looking forward on ab and leg toning the most in this class, so I'm axioms to see what next week will bring (:
